Let's see. DR MICHAEL S plans to make an announcement soon. DR GINNY was told something which she is to keep under her hat. Uranus must have something to do with all this!

I seem to be too addle-brained at the moment to make jokes or even understand jokes. This kid needs more sleep!

DR Ron Pulliam - thanks for your concern.  Thursday night is choir rehearsal night, and I generally don't have access to a computer for a big chunk o' time.  This may change if I ever get a cell phone that has Windows Mobile.

That sounds like a good idea, but before you do, make sure that you read THIS article about a woman who got a $5,000 cell phone bill...for one month of service!! :o

:o

(FYI, the second woman talked about in the article is no relation. :))

Oh, and there were a number of very nice looking Punjabi men at the concert...there is something about that turban some of the Sikh guys where just makes me all happy inside!  ;)

This makes no sense! Do you mean "wear" instead of "where?"

Maybes it's like Scots and what they were - or don't wear - under their kilts.

Thanks, DR George!  No, I could not afford that kind of a monthly bill.  The plan I have now has unlimited monthly internet access.  Which is kind of silly, because I don't use my phone to go online that much.  If I could access HHW via my phone, I'd use it a lot more!  :)

Me, too.  :(

I'd rather have Too Many Mornings.

Nothing exceeds like excess.

Just remember, to everything there is a season.  Some morning you may look in the mirror and shout, "Oy¡  I've had TOO MANY mornings!"

Last night, DR George wrote:

"OMG!  I'm watching the hi-def version of "Ugly Betty" and all of a sudden the voices went silent on the soundtrack!  All the other noises (the sound effects, the music, etc.) still were there, but just no voices!  It lasted a couple of minutes, but it was very weird!  I've never watched any of the hi-def channels in hi-def before...does this happen very often??"

It didn't happen during the East coast broadcast, so I'm guessing this was a West coast screw-up. Yes, it happens occasionally when the network engineer doesn't flip the HDTV switches correctly. You were getting the Dolby 5.1 audio track without the center channel audio, and ABC is the worst network about making this mistake. (They showed almost half of the movie ANNA AND THE KING in HD with the center audio channel turned off). CBS has done it occasionally with the CSI shows, too. Very annoying.

When it happens, I immediately switch to the analog broadcast. If you don't want to give up the HD picture, switch on the closed captioning.

I was watching the show from the DVR so it was too late to switch.  I tried turning on the subtitles and there were none...at all!  None for the entire episode.  I don't know if it's my TV, DVR or what, but none of the hi-def shows that I've watched have subtitles. :-\ Not "Lost" or "Grey's Anatomy" from last night, or any.

And speaking of the SciFi network, you forgot

The Sarah Jane Adventures
Dang, Liz Sladon looks great!

And Doctor Who
where Freema Agyeman starts her return for three episodes as Dr. Martha Jones, and the Sontarans are out to take over the world!  (You should remember Freema Agyeman, DR Matt.  She also played Martha on that three-ep arc on Torchwood earlier this year.)

During my transition from a standard DVR to a hi-def DVR, I missed recording the last two of episodes of "Doctor Who." :( But I've got my new DVR all set to record both "The Sarah Jane Adventures" and "Doctor Who," as well as "Ghost Whisperer." :D
