Hello, everyone.

Ah, spotted by DR GINNY! Thanks for asking, Ginny, I'm still miztherable. But the stuff I took for the sore throat did help; unfortunately, this doesn't seem to be one of those hit-it-early-and-it's-gone things. I think I'll have to keep taking the stuff.

I suspect you wouldn't have liked that any better.

I detest the abbreviation of "BD" for Blu-ray discs.  Why not something distinctive, like  "BVD"?  :D

Ah, thanks, DR derBrucer. I checked the description of the new one which was not complete. I read through the reviews and no one mentioned that it wasn't anamorphic. So, that makes my mind up. Thanks again.

One reviewer did grumble about "one channel audio".

I think the Blu-rays (sorry DRs JMK and Ron Pulliam) just arrived, so I'm heading down to fetch them, start on lunch, and then get down to work.

Due to a lack of anything appealing on TV last e'en, I took the opportunity to catch up on my DVR cache goodies and turned my attention to the PBS airing of part 1 of "Cranford."

What a TREAT!  I was amazed at this wonderful story and the brilliant "dames" (in both senses of the word) who populate the town of Cranford.  Especially noteworthy were the brilliant Eileen Atkins, the stellar Judi Dench and the wonderful Imelda Staunton.

I cannot wait for parts 2 and 3.

Nothing to be "sorry" about.  They are called what they are called.  Nobody's laying blame at your feet for the trademark naming! :)

Though the soundtrack album was in stereo, I think the film was released mono, so having a mono track on the DVD (even for a musical like this) is what I expected.

Since my "line" came before "yours", however did you allow that to happen?   ;D

This weekend I bought two books at Powell's Book Store....the next day my visa card company called and said there was unusual activity on my credit card. When I called Visa they told me the unusual activity was the purchase of the two books at Powell's Book Store.

I think maybe I should feel insulted by that. (...and I can hear Elmore laughing right now)

It's only that they weren't books about Bollywood that concerned the credit card company, not your inherent (to them) illiteracy.  .  .

On the one hand, it's good to note that VISA recognized the activity was not from the "usual" geographic areas in which you use it.

On the other hand, I wonder if they would have called if you had used the card to pay for a hotel and rental car.

And on the third hand, if you DID use the card for hotel and car rental, then perhaps your use of the card at a "book store" WAS what alerted them to a deviation of the norm!  :D

Speaking of anguish, it is noted that DR Tomovoz has not posted here in 9 (count 'em NINE) days.

Last night was the episode before the finale here for DAMAGES.

What an interesting show!

I am curious if there is a season two? I'm guessing if there is that it has not started yet?
