Good morning!

Beautiful day. Not a cloud in the sky. Can't believe how quickly the cool weather just left us!

TV Reminders:

NCIS

LAW & ORDER: SVU

WOMEN'S MURDER CLUB

IDOL

DANCING WITH THE STARS (yes, it is two hours; aren't former competitors coming back to perform. They've been advertising it like crazy during all the ABC shows I watch.)

I was expecting long lines at the polls today, so I took a magazine and some peppermints prepared to stand in a long line. Imagine my surprise when I walked right in and was out in less than ten minutes!

Today I'll watch last night's CSI: MIAMI while I cook and eat lunch. Then, I'll be reviewing STRANGE WILDERNESS. Keeping an open mind but I can't say it made any impact at all in theaters. Maybe it will play better on the small screen. I'll see.

There are a bunch of Rudolph Valentino movies coming on TV today. Most are available on home video, but I have recorded three I didn't already have and have never seen all the way through: CAMILLE, MORAN OF THE LADY LETTY, and THE YOUNG RAJAH.

Don't know when I'll get to any of them, but they'll be there when I get time to watch them.

Tuesday morning greetings!  I'm here at my desk between offsite meetings.

TOD - I'd like to see Sarah Jessica Parker in Funny Girl, but DR Elmore has told me she doesn't have the vocal chops.  How I empathize!

A revival of The Unsinkable Molly Brown would please me, too, but I'll leave the casting, good OR bad, to the professionals.

Aww, Jeanne, I'm sorry to hear about your allergies. I hope you feel better!

thank you, Laura. I will soon be trying something new, but it's a mail-order item, so I probably won't get it until next week.

I always enjoy reading the various DR reviews of a given show. It's really interesting to me to see how different individuals react--especially so when there's some disagreement. I find it quite constructive.

So, thanks to DRs FJL and BEN and all others who have done so!

I'd love to see a revival of FOLLIES done right, but I suspect the cost would be prohibitive.

THE HAPPY TIME is getting a revival but not in NYC. I deserves to be seen and heard by far more people.

Now THAT would be interesting!   :)

I'd prefer to see Sigourney Weaver assay that role!    :-*

DR Jane, I thought i mentioned that i used antibiotic cream. I put some on right away with a band aid.

I have been putting the cream on every day. But it's not in a place where i can really comfortably keep a band aid. So i just keep the band aid on for an hour or so when i put on the cream.

You mentioned a cream to disinfect, which to me is different that an antibiotic cream.  I personally prefer the greasy ointments.

I'm glad it isn't hurting anymore.

Hello, everyone.

I am not a happy camper this morning. In addition to having the worst allergy problems I've had in several years, I've also been fighting a sore throat. Up to now I've been able to keep it under control--now I'm not so sure. Now I hate the pollen! I was doing fine until the pollen appeared.

End of rant.

Re:  hands and hand cream/lotion.  I have been plagued most of my adult life with a weird skin problem that no dermatologist has been able to properly diagnose, though a couple have said it appears to be a mutant form of exczema (sp?).  I get very small patches of extremely dry skin that ultimately crack and bleed.  I get these on tips of my fingers regularly, which makes playing the piano very painful.  I have been prescribed many an expensive "remedy" over the years (Protopic for example goes for over $100 a tube!), none of which worked.  I finally defaulted to lotions last year and though I still have the problem, it's better than it's been in a long time.

Which brings me to this perhaps funny anecdote from yesterday:  two women I know recommended a little item called Bag Balm, which I'm sure the women here know about.  I had never heard of it before (though DS Betsy told me she used it for what women use it for, LOL).  Well I left the cannister out in the car, which Betsy took and left out in the sun the other day.  I got to the car yesterday morning to find my entire back seat swathed in a thick, gooey coating of Bag Balm.  Oy and vey.  We are still cleaning it.

I'm up and awaiting a call from Mr. Jason Graae who desperately needs some charts from his Strouse CD.  I don't recall seeing that box of music in years, but we're meeting at the storage place to look for it.

DR elmore3003, I assume you've heard the recording with Jim Nabors as Quixote and Marilyn Horne as Aldonza?   :)

I have that album. ;)
