Almost as heart-rending as that scene from The Miracle Worker!   ;)

I'll bet everyone is back at the link I posted on the previous page, making Simon say the most naughty, degrading things imaginable.

Coincidence!   Yesterday I had "Secret Love" in my head too DR WhipCrack.  I had been listening to Freddy Fender's version earlier.  The 1963 version by England's Kathy Kirby gets considerable airplay here on "oldies" radio.

This was in our weekly employee bulletin for this week:

Quote
Did you know…?

Easter is always the 1st Sunday after the 1st full moon after the Spring Equinox (which is March 20).

This dating of Easter is based on the lunar calendar that Hebrew people used to identify Passover, which is why it moves around on our Roman calendar.

This year is the earliest Easter any of us will ever see the rest of our lives!  And only the most elderly of our population have ever seen it this early (95 years old or above).

The next time Easter will be this early (March 23) will be the year 2228.  The last time it was this early was 1913.

Just had to share. :)

To DR Mr Spaghetti's Stolen songs:  - I have the suspicion that ALW's "Love Changes Everything" lurks somewhere in the "Candide" Overture.

Hiya, gang!!

Well, I've been scribbling up a storm - and they insist on giving me free tix to everything, so I've just come from a great concert at Disney Hall (yes, they have some at 11 AM on Fridays!) with Janine Jansen playing the Tchaikovsky violin concerto -- see my article about it on www.fineartsla.com

I looked at that 3d numerology url - some intersting ideas.

I expected to be doing a lot more Lost spoiler-dodging last night and today than I've had to do.   :)

That's because "Lost" aired Wednesday evening...and because the storyline was rather linear (even with the lengthy flashback).  Of course, the usual suspects weren't avidly posting about it, and that kept me a bit silent about it, too.

I totally didn't know what to make of the final minutes and couldn't have speculated (even now) had I wanted to.

I suspect you'll find every single note that Sondheim ever wrote was used first by Richard Rodgers in his "Carousel" overture.

Doing a little Spring cleaning.  I've got stuff sitting in my dresser drawers from twenty years ago.  Some very nice t-shirts, so I can wear those, but lots of sweaters and shirts that no longer fit and are not exactly in style.  So, I now have a completely empty drawer and about fourteen new never-before-worn t-shirts hanging in the closet.  Said closet is next - I'm guessing I can get rid of about half of what's in there.

Once I had a secret love
That lived within the heart of me.
All too soon my secret love
Became impatient to be free.

So I told the friendly star
The way that dreamers often do-
Just how wonderful you are,
And why I'm so in love with you.

Now I shout it from the highest hills -
Even told the golden daffodils.
At last my heart's an open door-
And my secret love's no secret anymore.

from the movie Calamity Jane, 1953
Music:  Sammy Fain, Lyric: Paul Francis Webster

Harrrumph!  You've left out the verse.    :o

MEDIA CHECK:

DVD PLAYER:
THE DEVILS (widescreen, but matted to 1.85:1), it'll do until Warners decides to release it.
ENCHANTED (good DTS track; I love the French Soundtrack, too).
STARDUST, which mum finally watched and enjoyed tremendously.  Go figure.  Mothers!
DOTSI from Netflix arrived today.

Speaking of Netflix, how about that new Home Page? ? ?  Mine has suggestions for more Ashkay Kumar films  I might enjoy!

CD Player:
THE LITTLE MERMAID - OBC - what a great album!

BOOK:
THE ROAD - Cormac McCarthy, I mustn't read this late at night anymore. . .

Oh, and I finally gave in and bought my first IPod. . .so. . . .there's 80gig of music to fill in this weekend.
