What a nice story!

Really! Who would've thought we'd have EBay to thank for some of our favorite HHWers!

Which could be a TOD -- How did you come to be at this here site?

You have DR ELmo to thank (or give a black eye to) for me (who I met through DRBB -- Dear Reader Birthday Boy -- who met DR ELmo through Grand Pooh-Pah bk, thanks to The Brain From Planet X last December). DR Elmo threatened me until I joined up here at HHW (true story!).

I'm seeing Young Frankenstein tomorrow evening.

Next Tuesday I'm seeing The Farnsworth Invention. It's a new play by Aaron Sorkin (West Wing and A Few Good Men). It's about the battle for the patent for the invention of the television set and the race between Philo T. Farnsworth, a young genius who came up with the idea as a high school student, against David Sarnoff, the head of the Radio Corporation of America (RCA) to win the patent.

The Tuesday after that I'm seeing Cymbeline at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre at Lincoln Center. It stars Michael Cerveris, John Cullum, John Pankow, Martha Plimpton and Phylicia Rashad and is directed by Mark Lamos.

The Wednesday after that I'm seeing Disney's Little Mermaid.

If some of you (and by that, I mean you, Elmore ;) ) are pretending not to be old enough to remember the Theme to Saturday Night at the Movies, you're not fooling me (a 110 in the Shade reference).  Can someone help me?  It's either that or the CBS Thursday Night Movie, but I'm thinking it's NBC's.

Re JOSE and the GYM,
Has anyone else noticed that that naughty boy introduced HOW MANY of us to these sinful, to-die-for desserts and NOW HE'S going to the gym to work off some of it?  :)

Is that FAIR, I ask you??

Also, one of my cats used to enjoy some stuff that was supposed to help with hairballs. She's lick it off my fingers--really loved the stuff. It was almost a gel and I could envelope the pill in it.

Lunch ran late, so I didn't have quite as much time as usual on a Monday afternoon. Managed to see some things, but had to stop the last show in midstream. Will finish wading through it later this evening.

I began by finishing up the documentary on the DAWN OF SOUND. The later portions I knew, so it's the first half that contained all the footage that I hadn't seen before.

I have to say seeing that footage of Mary Pickford in COQUETTE (I watched the entire movie off TCM several months ago for the first time) that the Oscars haven't just recently been a joke. Going back to her award for this wretched performance is proof positive that a lot more than talent has ALWAYS been a part of Oscar selections.

I remember reading that Pickford invited the entire board of governors of the Academy (who used to determine the winners in the early days) up to Pickfair for lunch in her campaign to win that award. It worked.

Next, I watched last night's DEXTER. Excellent episode as always, and I like how the noose is creeping ever-tighter around Dexter's neck. We knew he's eventually going to escape, but how?

Next I sped through today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. No gay characters, and they don't appear to be on tomorrow either though Luke's parents do seem to be on.

I finished the afternoion watching the first 20 minutes of last night's COLD CASE. A con woman is found shot in an alley and she lingers for years in a vegatative state until she dies. But who shot her? Only just starting now to get the list of suspects initially interviewed.

Because I watched that documentary on the BREATHLESS set this morning, I didn't have time to clean the dining room, so I'm heading downstairs now to do that.

A friend of mine that I saw on a Saturday Night (a Sondheim reference ;)) who went to vet school (but now she's a stay-at-home mom and LOVES it) said to use tuna juice. :P I think I'll continue to try shoving it down her throat. :) (I don't like tuna and will avoid it, if I can.)
