I read the booklet in the Mickey-Judy box before going to sleep last night. Always enjoy John Fricke's take on all things Judy Garland.

My only disappointment is that he didn't do a running commentary for all four films, but especially for BABES ON BROADWAY. Stil I'l enjoy the two that he DID do.

Another thing I did last night before prime time started that I failed to mention is try out my laserdisc player on the new TV. I had plugged it in from the beginning but in being so busy watching DVDs and calibrating the inputs that I use most frequently (cable box, over the air digital tuner, DVD player, and Blu-ray player), I hadn't done anything to the S-video calibration for the laserdisc. I put in A VERY BRADY SEQUEL, one of the more recent and colorful laserdiscs, so I could guage flesh tones and sharpness. I'll have to try out a few Technicolor laserdiscs next to see how I did with a quick, crude calibration.

Much to do today, feel pulled in many directions--like a monkey cake, one could say. I've never eaten monkey cake, mind you, but I may just be feeling like one.

I'm going to make an all-out effort to finish up CSI: NY on DVD today. That means I'll have to record GHOST WHISPERER and MOONLIGHT tonight. If I can finish up before 10, I'll probably watch GHOST WHISPERER since it's in such an exciting place right now.

I am having Welsh Rarebit for breakfast (which is slightly  less exotic than the Orange Peel Chicken I had yesterday morning).  Beats a bowl of cereal anyday!

Bruce, keep us postd on the fundraiser.   I have high hopes for its success and for less stress for you.

And the word of the day is: MOLIMINOUS!
I've always found Mr. Toad's Wild Ride at Disneyland to be light and carefree fun, and hardly MOLIMINOUS at all.  But I've always wished that Mole and Rat could have their own ride, as well, since I like those two a lot.

I also think it says something of our cultural biases, that we don't have the word RATIMINOUS in our language.  A shame, really.

TOD: Since we hardly ever watch TV, the only thing we've managed to sit down and watch is a movie my DH plucked off the shelf last night and said "I see something I want to watch".

It was THE LAST STARFIGHTER. It was fun to see it again after seeing Fred & Skip's show, and we both agreed that we liked the changes they made (Centauri as co-pilot, etc.).

Tonight I'm going to a documentary about Pearl, a topiary gardener that we did a show about many years ago. Our gardening crew is all going together; it will be fun to see everybody!

And right now I'm watching the interview my DH did a month or so ago with Joe Harris, the theatre producer who originally produced Li'l Abner. He is a fascinating guy!

Next up, Margaret Whiting. We kept walking past her apartment when we were in NY and we would wave at her balcony.

Ah...the old days of Broadway, when it was a simpler, easier time.

He's talking about going to The Edison with Johnny Mercer.

I miss NY already!

My brother-in-law made the feature documentary about Pearl, and I'd very much appreciate hearing all about it, including how the audience reacted.

A Such Good Friends cast album?  A certain signed contract absolutely prohibits the making of cast albums until six months after a NYMF show closes.  Shows that have had cast albums made with previous casts, prior to NYMF selection, of course, are in the pink.

They did the online at the post house where we did S&V and The Internationale. So I will know some of the crew there. They had told me about it last year when they were planning to work on it and were very excited about the project!

I guess I should be looking into how to text vote for our fave NYMF shows.

For those of us not accustomed to the process from American Idol or Dancing With the Stars, it will be a learning experience!

In her interview, Margaret Whiting is talking about how Paul McCartney wanted to write with Johnny and how Johnny liked The Beatles, especially Paul. But Johnny's wife Ginger was ill at the time and he said he'd work with Paul when she got better.

Too bad they never ended up collaborating. That would have been interesting!

Didn't we just have "moliminous" as word of the day?

Is it double doody week?

Did we?  I'm so discombobulated I can't remember anything.  I've changed the word, just in case.

I can't figure out what the new word of the day means, exactly, but it seems to be very metaphysical.

DR Singling, it's very easy.

On my phone, I
a. select the messages menu
b. select new text message
c. Type in the address, or phone number, 64641, then hit OK or enter
d. For the message, type in the number of the show you're voting for. I think THE BRAIN is fest07, for example...

If you haven't text-messaged before, I can offer technical support on that, too!
