Hmm... It's only just a little 11:00am on the East Coast, and we're already on Page 5... Not bad for a Saturday.

I went to the bank and the post office and stopped at the Crystal Flash gasoline station where I saw an eight year old girl with long blonde hair wearing a tube top and a mini skirt and flip flops do an interpretative dance (or African fertility dance) in front of the Hostess Twinkie rack.

Her mother was yakking to the cashier about the new $20 Hoosier Lottery Ticket and didn't seem interest at all in her daughter displaying her terpsichorean talents.

Yes, you can blame me.  But, I believe I've returned HHW to the proper Academy Ratio.

Larry - Absolutely, these one-acts have provoked divergent strong reaction, with general critical disagreement as to which work fabulously and which are terrible.  As it happens, Skip's music has come off nicely in the reviews, but I'm worried about any vitriol (hyperbolic or otherwise) directed at ANY of the pieces on the evening on a site that's comprised of friends of ours.  The writers on this evening are generally Skip's collaborators and their close freinds.  Skip has to go there every performance, and perfrom with these people every performance, so  as a favor, please delay any negative comments about the show Skip is performing at every perfromance  until performances are over.

Well, much as I meant to leave 30 minutes ago, I still am wandering about the apartment because I need to call my dad's attorney before I leave and his line is busy.

DR FJL, calm down.

I'm up and trying to de-groggify but not joggify as I must get my do done.  Whether I'll joggify post do remains to be seen - depends if I want to muck up the do, and also I'm thinking my legs, which are very sore, may need this day off and I'll resume tomorrow.

I got a list of dates where our Merrill Grant has conflicts and must miss large portions of rehearsals on six occasions, three of which are during run-throughs, one of which is five days before we open.  I have gotten nothing like this list from any other performer - maybe an hour here, or a half-hour there, but really almost nothing.  Needless to say, she has an e-mail waiting for her - nice, but firm.

I'm up. I'm not happy about it, but I'm up...

DR Jose: Just got my email from Dave & Buster's about my $10 game credit. Be sure to read the whole thing! You can only open the link to the $10 coupon once, so once you open it, be prepared to print it. Also, the coupon expires on 9/17, so it sounds like we'll have to make another trip fairly soon. ;)

I don't wanna do today's matinee...I guess I should call out. I mean, it's just Broadway, right? People call out all the time for lesser reasons...

TOD:
Man Facing Southeast
The Next Voice You Hear
Song of Norway
Willard (the original)
Why Shoot The Teacher?
Men Don't Leave
A Midwinter's Tale
Then Came Bronson (the tv series)

I could think of more, if my VHS tapes weren't all packed up!

and...Sacco and Vanzetti!
But, it shall be released next week!

If any DR's who saw the film and would like to contribute a short review (hopefully positive) even just a paragraph, to imdb/Amazon, we would be most grateful!

Vixmom wrote a wonderful, personal take on seeing the film that is posted at Amazon. The other review is by someone that from my guess hasn't even seen the film but based his description on the product info.

And there's your daily dose of spam for the day!

I'm supposed to go to an outdoor wedding this afternoon. Even if it stops raining, it's been raining HARD for over 2 hours now. I have a feeling the park will be mud and glop. It will be interesting to see what they do

Having been in this situation before, I recommend wearing flats---no pointy heels or you will only succeed in aerating the soil!

Of course these conflicts and hem haws remind me of the line from CATCHER IN THE RYE:

"Jesus Christ, if the ship was sinking, you would want to know who else was going to be in the lifeboat!"

Time to grab another cup of coffee and see if I can find out how much raing we've had so far...it's been a lot!

Here in the South, a raing is what the groom gives the bride!

Whilst I was cleaning, I was listening to The Symphonic LES MISERABLES.  Whatever happened to Gary Morris?
