Just checking my Alamo rental car receipt....they do charge a lot of taxes!

Airport Concession Fee $18.00
Tourism fee $4.00
Sales tax $20.85

I sure hope California puts it all to good use.

However I didn't understand the "Unauthorized drop charge = $75.00"...turns out Alamo claimed I picked up the car in Burbank and dropped it off in San Francisco. Fortunately I cleared that up.

Good thing I checked.

Lunch ran long so I didn't have a chance to watch as many things as I counted on watching. I did get three things watched and the beginning of a fourth.

I started with last night's CSI. It was a better episode than the last few have been, returning to unusual cases with a scientific mind-set to the investigation. Lots of guest stars, too, including Ally Sheedy, Julie Hagerty, and Enrico Colantoni.

Next was last night's SMALLVILLE, a fun little outing with Jimmy getting conked on the head and dreaming the episode was a 40s film noir complete with black and white photography and almost everyone smoking every second they could. I'll swear, it seems the writers are getting very close to having Lana know all about Clark's secret.

MY NAME IS EARL had an okay episode with a couple of laughs but more sincerity than usual as Earl tried his best to get and keep a real job and then wanting to advance from a dock worker to a salesman in an appliance store.

This was the episode that used the "laugh 'n sniff" cards as they called them. The most authentic aroma was buttered popcorn. Others that I remember were cologne, new car smell, and Oreo cookies.
