I, dear friends and readers, am annoyed.

There should be an email list so students could be notified if they check their email before they leave for school. They must have had some warning if they had time to put a note on the door. I would be very annoyed, too!

Edi-I also find it exciting you are working on THE CLOSER & knowing new episodes will be forthcoming.   :D

The focus this season is on "family". The squad as a family, as well as meeting more family members: Brenda's father, Fritz's parents. etc.

As I look at the dailies, I marvel once again at the quality of acting, directing, the blocking and camera work. I have always admired the editing. The editors pull all sorts of details out of the footage---so many little "moments", and turn it around so fast. Very impressive!

Actually, none of us should be her.  She should be allowed to be herself without being taken over by anyone else.

Don't tempt me with offers of narration. Even though it's not "acting" I love that kind of stuff  :D

Wow---I can't believe how good the quality is, being recorded straight to the computer. I won't tell my DH---he might think his job is threatened!

As far as narration...be careful what you wish for!

Is this the documentary about the Billy Holliday song? I know some of the folks involved with it. It is a fascinating story, made by a very nice guy...

DR Edisaurus - Re: Strange Fruite:

This is a film from 2004. Here is the plot:

William Boyals, a successful, black, gay attorney in New York, is drawn back to the small, rural Louisiana town he long ago escaped from to investigate the lynching of a black gay childhood friend.

I saw it listed on Netflix and it sounded interesting. I may have to  search out that other film, however, as it also sounds interesting.

One of my co-workers saw Harold & Maude: An Intimate Musical last night and brought me the program.  Her review was mixed.

Re the Kritzer CDs - I'm about to have them mastered into one CD and then I'll print up a few and they'll be available on kritzerland.com very inexpensively.  The Kritzer Time CD had a problem - it was all reverb - something had gone wrong when Grant made the original CD master.  That's been completely remixed and now sounds normal.

edisaurus will, of course, get one for all her incredibly helpful work on the Brain video.  And I'll send the credits now.

There is so much I want to see in the area.
DR MBarnum, it sounds like you meant to say "eat", from the tenor of these discussions!   :)

DR Edisaurus, please let your cartographer friend [My Friend the Cartographer...hmm...a song?  a documentary?] know that their map is great fun, and very well done.

And **HEALING VIBES** for your finger....your mouse finger.

A short description of the STRANGE FRUIT documentary:

In 1937, after seeing a photo depicting the lynching of a black man in the south, Bronx-born high school teacher Abel Meeropol wrote a poem entitled "Strange Fruit" that begins with the words: "Southern trees bear a strange fruit / Blood on the leaves and blood at the root." He set the poem to music and a few years later convinced Billy holiday to record it in a legendary heartbreaking performance. Intertwining jazz genealogy, biography, performance footage, and the history of lynching, director Joel Katz fashions a fascinating discovery of the lost story behind a true American classic.

There are some fascinating angles on the story that would be a real spoiler to mention. But definitely this is worth putting in the queue!

Good morning dear Esteemed, semi-rested, dazzling and guapo BK --

It will be a treat to have all of the Kritzer music on one CD, and I'm glad you're doing that.  Also glad that the writing is coming along and that the "muse" is responding well to what she sees.

Hi Dr Edi ...... Hope your finger (or "finser" as it was called by our GM some time back in the notes) doesn't hurt too much.  It's a bitch when you get a cut on some joint or area that has to flex and move.

DR Edi - if your mouse finger is unusable, you could try the technique used by my 88-year-old mother (who bought her first computer just 3 years ago).  She uses her mouse upside down, pressing with the heel of her hand instead of her finger.  Of course, this means that when you move the mouse left, the cursor goes right and vice versa!

Oh,  and down is up, too.

Harold & Maude: An Intimate Musical
Remember when it used to be just "A New Musical"?

Marketers and producers, take note!  A new era has begun.

The Sound of Music: A Saccharine Musical
Grey Gardens: A Dysfunctional Musical
Sweeney Todd: A Barbarous Musical
etc.
etc.

Meanwhile, quick healing vibes for Edi's finger!

DtM, interesting concept from Amazon & TIVO.   I wonder what that would do to NetFlix.  Maybe nothing, unless you intend to watch the recording quickly it will only used up available recording space.  I think I might still prefer a DVD sitting in my drawer until I’m ready to watch it.

DR Jane, I don't think it will effect Netflix at all, since the selection is no where near and it's a service limited to Tivo subscribers.  However, the few advantages it does have over Netflix is that the films are always available and I can plan on viewing a movie just an hour or two (the time it takes to download) in advance. Once a movie is downlaoded to your unit, you have 30 days to view it.  But once you start playing it,  it's set to delete after 24 hours.

I'm gonna give it a shot.  And since they gave me $15 in free rentals for signing up, there's no real risk.

Our office has to move ASAP, so this morning, I am looking at real estate.

Yesterday's sellers' office space glut will become today's buyer's "There is nothing available, and we can't afford it if it is".
