What a day! Work this morning was fine, no issues (finally) - When I got to Pippin I admittingly had a chip on my shoulder from the fiasco that was last night, but surprisingly, things went well. I should be able to get through this run without too many more war wounds. I did not. however, "pedal" the harpsichord as I was instructed to do last night. In fact, I had refused, but my technique was met with shaken heads and "would you please pedal the harpsichord - it covers up the wrong notes" I was like "well, if I wasn't playing so damn soft and your tempo's weren't so erractic that I have to constantly watch you, maybe the notes would be right if I wasn't so paranoid!" -- so today, I sat down, played the passages WITHOUT the pedal and the conductor was like "Yeah, that's right" and I said "Great, and no pedal". I basically just set the volume pedal at a soft setting and played out... it was wonderful!!!
The Tres Leches cake was met with high regard from my family except my brother who couldn't understand the "milk" concept.
