I was sitting here like so much fish, but now I'm leaving.  First, to my sister's, then home to sit like so much fish watching TV. :)

DR Jose,

Yes, next week, is the beginning of the semifinal rounds. The twelve men sing on Tuesday, and the twelve women sing on Wednesday. On Thursday, two men and two women are eliminated.

SVU had a very powerful and very involving hour last night. An almost unrecognizable Cary Elwes played a mob lawyer whose wife was killed. Interesting story of her rape and murder, a case that also gets Stabler suspended from the force amid accusations of beating a suspect to death.

BONES had a very good episode tonight with Dr. Jack Hodgins making a foolish mistake that could have cost the lab a black eye as a trustworthy forensics institution. Stephen Fry was back as Booth's therapist in delightful scenes between the two of them. (He has one more episode in his story arc.) Nice to see Brennan happy over something other than her job.

Argh! Now, due to IDOL, the show is off the air for several weeks.

I liked IDOL tonight. I think this is the first time we have heard every semifinalist sing a bit during this last episode. True, I would have liked lots more, but we still got to hear something from everyone.

I was puzzled by a couple of choices. My favorites among the women were Melinda, the background singer, and the single mother (don't remember her name).

Of the men, I think the witty, curly-haired bigger guy has an amazing voice, my favorite of the excerpts we heard. (And Simon had the nerve to tell him he didn't think he had one of the better voices but had an excellent personality. I felt he had an outstanding voice. Of course, Simon got to hear a lot more than I did.) I didn't hear anything that SUndance sang during the Hollywood round that would have warranted his being put through. That decision had to have been based on personality.

I will be very interested to hear them all sing next week.

LOST had a fabulous episode, a Desmond flashback that was as enigmatic as it was involving. And, of course, his final statement was paralyzingly stunning!

Is anybody else an "AMC Moviewatcher"?

I got the e-mail today notifying me of their upcoming Academy Awards Screening Day.  They'll be showing all five Best Picture Nominees back to back at select theatre around the country on Saturday, February 24 - the day before the Oscars.  The screenings start in the morning, and continue all day.  You get one large popcorn and unlimited drink refills all day.  And all for only $30.  Not bad.  And you can come and go as you please throughout the day.  I think I may do it.  -If there are still passes left.

Who amongst us has had a Valentine's Day kiss?  I had one on the cheek from Alet.

I had dozens of them, from men AND women!

Problem is that we've heard it repeatedly in previews for the past two weeks.

Here's a thought....go out and have a GOOD TIME.  Go see a movie you've longed to see.  Visit a local pub and shoot darts and swill a few pints.

A. He doesn't drive.
B. There is no evening mass transit.
C. Wind chill is 11 degrees- only pub is three miles walk.
D. Taxis are infrequent and really pricey.

I just watched four episodes of the old TV series RIPCORD.

The leads (Ken Curtis and Larry Pennell) are good enough actors, but the writers did not give their charactes even an ounce of personality....and I have seen both of these actors in other shows and they usually are quite memorable...but here they are dull, dull, dull...as were all of the other characters.

My interviewee Jimmy Baird did show up in episode # 4, however, so that was nice. I will have to make a copy of it and send it to him.

Comments from tonight's top 24 AMERICAN IDOL.
...i have to try to remember their stories from their original auditions (the back-up singer melinda, the guy whose wife had a baby ...). I know i liked them then. But it's been so long.

I just wish they could have shown them throughout the hollywood week so we could see if they improved.
