Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr

No, the singer of the theme song!

Even Marni Nixon gets to sing on the soundtrack! (Not for Deborah... again!)

Request:

If any DR can find a copy of Melissa Etheridge's Oscar nominated song "I Need To Wake Up" and can "burn" me a copy I would be most appreciative. I've never downloaded a song nor do I use MP3 format.

Is this song the first time there has been a nominated song from the score of a documentary (An Inconvenient Truth)

No, "More" from MONDO CANE was the first time that happened.

"Tuchus Butt Castle"

I think it could catch hold with the public. I have used the phrase it twice already tonight.

Had a full evening of enjoyable viewing.

I began by finishing PRIDE AND PREJUDICE. Loved it as much this time as all other times.

Next, I watched the special features on the PRIDE AND PREJUDICE DVD. There was an HBO: First Look special, a featurette on putting together the cast, another on the cast working together, and a brief documentary about Jane Austen. I also looked at the theatrical trailer.

I found I had recorded on the DVR three movies: DIE! DIE! MY DARLING, YOLANDA AND THE THIEF, and SUMMER HOLIDAY. The latter, I have on laserdisc, but the TCM broadcast is sharper albeit with a darker look and not as vivid Technicolor as the laser. YOLANDA, which I just looked at a few seconds of, looks luminous, and I'll be burning a DVD of it tomorrow. DIE! DIE! was full frame - boo!

MONK had a few chuckles, and it was nice to see Sean Astin as the guest star, but I guess the writers just aren't bothering with doing standard mysteries any more. They're going more the COLUMBO route of showing us the murderer and then watching as Monk puts together the clues.

Worked great on Columbo, but here, not so much.

PSYCH made me laugh a lot as Sean and Gus attempt to give the police captain his confidence back. Cute, simple little mystery with James Roday being his usual adorable self.

Richard Kind was the primary guest star this week.

Thanks Matt.  Forgot that!  All I remember is the Death of  a Turtle! I know the song was "overdubbed" so that it could be given a chance of an Oscar but I can't remember the song at all in the film - just the tune.  I wonder if the print here was not the same as the USA one.

I was really surprised that year that "More" didn't win. And if "More" didn't win, I was expecting "Charade" to win.

"Call Me Irresponsible" took home the prize.

Finished one movie, may start another.

Dunno what's with the Skinner/Ripley thing, but it will all be fine come Monday evening.

Several more orders, although few from around these here parts.  FJL will be happy to know that The Last Starfighter just sold two more copies - that's what frequently happens from the e-blasts when people are driven to the site.  Press release will go out over the weekend.

DERBRUCER-I’m confused.  Will the Grandlad be able to take piano at school?  It isn’t the usual sort of instrument taught in schools.

Frankly, my dear, I don't know.
The music room has a piano and I've seen the instructor and a student in there - but that doesn't mean it's an offered option. One more thing to check on!

I do hope some will take Mr. Shayne's sage advice and order the Joan Ryan CD - it's really good.

When someone at the bank usually asks if you have a straight deposit, they do it right then and give you a stamped deposit slip.  I would not have been pleased.

It all really matters not! Even if you have a teller-stamped receipt for a deposit, the bank has the right to "correct it" when they deicde an error has been made (even theirs).

Nice to hear about the unexpected Starfighter CD sales, BK.

Is there any way you could list all your CD products in a sidebar on the Kritzerland home page?  That way, people who come for BRAIN might buy another sci-fi, too, or may be enticed by some of the other titles.  Or is that something that the site couldn't handle?

Der Brucer ~ Don't make me come and snatch you bald-headed -- although, looking at your little wizard photo (or mad scientist or whatever you're supposed to be), it looks like someone beat me to the punch....

A. The little wizard photo is a preacher!
B. This is how you'd like me to look:

C. Too bad - here's the truth:

I'm thinking about a redesign of some sort for the home page, or at least some sort of line that directs you to the catalog for the list of complete titles.  Most label sites, though, are done like we do them - in fact, a handful of newer ones have just copied us.
