THE DAY BEFORE THE FINAL DAY OF 2006

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were prescient, oh, yes, they were prescient, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're being prescient right now.

edisaurus - I've made many postings to cinema treasures - all about my favorite theaters in LA - if you've done the Kritzer books you know what they are.  I love that site.

I haven't searched the LA theatres but I will check out the ones in the Kritzer books.

I got a phone call from my friend in LA who just received her xmas package which included a certain "Dirty Book". I'm looking forward to her comments on "Your Worst Nightmare"!

The Harry Palmer films you speak of all came out reasonably priced in region one, then went out of print, which is why they're pricey on amazon.  They can be had cheaper on eBay.  However, I really recommend a multi-region player - a really great one can be had for around $150 or so, and there's so much that's not available here.  The Palmer films are all available in region 2 very reasonably along with a zillion other great titles from great filmmakers.

If you want to peruse some excellent players, pay a visit to www.hkflix.com.  That's where I got my two players.

I'm quite certain I must be toddling off to the bedroom environment shortly, what with she of the Evil Eye arriving quite early.

I also got my region-code free DVD player from hkflix.com.  I've had it for several years and have never had a moment's trouble with it! :)

I really must finish the bedroom movie I'm watching - Hitler's Children - one of the oddest movies ever made.

Yesterday after work, I decided to go to the mall, just to look around and waste time.  I didn't stay too long, but I went to Sun Coast and they were having a sale on TV seasons...buy one, get one free. :) The only thing that they had that I might've been interested in was season 5 of "24" for $45 but they didn't have season 4 (I have seasons 1-3), so I didn't get it. :-\

After that, I went to Target (I received a $25 gift card from a friend of my parents for Christmas) to look at VCRs...yes, VCRs.  I'd like to replace one of mine and since I already have three DVD players, I don't need any more, or even a VCR/DVD combo.  Anyway, they only had one model that was just a VCR but it's the same brand as the one that I have hooked up to the VCR that I want to replace, so I can't use two of the same brand together (same remote control frequency), so I'll look somewhere else later.  So, I'm looking at the DVDs and wondering how much their seasons of "24" cost.  They have a display with the first four seasons and they're $24.99 each!  I look around the corner and there's the fifth season and that's also $24.99!  Score!!  Full price is $69.98 for season four and $59.98 for season five, but with my $25 gift card, I get both seasons for only $29.18!!  Double Score!!

Thanks for the info, BK...I will pass it along to my friend. I also feel the need to get one, too!

I've never tried another region's DVD in my laptop computer. I wonder if it only plays region 1 as well?

From what I've experienced, most computers can play different region DVDs, but they'll actually switch the code setting only a certain number of times so that you might end up permanantly locking it into region 2...not a good thing if you don't have many region 2 DVDs.

And now, I'm leaving.  I would like to get to sleep since I don't have to get up in the morning...except that I will because I want to go to work and make up a little time.

Good night, Edisaurus!
