Hammersmith is Out has got to be one of the weirdest movies I've ever seen.  Absolutely terrible!  The worst!  But I love Burton honking:  "Let me out!  I'll make you rich and strong!  Strong and rich!"

Back from two weeks in London!

Saw:

WICKED
ROCK N ROLL
THERESE RAQUIN
39 STEPS
DONKEY'S YEARS
FROST/NIXON
MOON FOR THE MISBEGOTTEN
GATES OF GOLD
THE SEAFARER
THE LIGHTNING PLAY
CORAM BOY
DON JUAN IN SOHO

All wonderfully produced and acted.  A very good trip!

Pogue and Jane and Danise back on the boards - hoo and ray and about time!

I almost got eight hours of sleep.  I thought I'd be doing the last of the shipping today, but as I said I got it all done yesterday, so I have no plans until rehearsal.

Hi Bruce!  Have a fantastic birthday tomorrow.  I have a 6:00AM flight so I, obviously, won't be here.

Almost eight hours of sleep sounds heavenly.  I slept in late (still way before sunrise) this morning, giving me almost six hours of sleep-a real treat these days.

Happy Birthday Jane!
Based on today's notes, BK must have met you in your former life - surely you were not born by 1964 :D

LOL-Thanks DerBrucer.  We might have even met sooner at his father's restaurant but I think we would remember that.  Bruce was most likely in the kitchen while I was having lunch with my father.

Nice to hear from an old friend:

Ray Bradbury: 'We're Going to Need Water' on Mars
Quote
Wednesday, December 06, 2006
By Catherine Donaldson-Evans

Famed science-fiction legend Ray Bradbury is excited, both about Wednesday's news that water may still be flowing on Mars and about NASA's plans, announced Monday, to build a permanent base on the moon.
"It's nice to know that water's there, because we're going to need water," the 86-year-old author of "The Martian Chronicles" told FOXNews.com Wednesday from his Los Angeles home. "But more important news than water on Mars is the fact that NASA has announced we're going to build a permanent locale on the moon for taking off to Mars."

For decades, Bradbury has woven colorful science-fiction tales about people traveling to and living on Mars, many of them collected in his 1950 book "The Martian Chronicles."
His vivid descriptions of the planet have brought it to life for millions of readers, and he has long believed the stuff of his imagination would one day become reality.
"We're going to bring our life to Mars," he said. "We will be the Martians, and that's our future. I wish I were going to be alive the day we land on Mars and become the Martians."

"The water may be flowing on Mars, but the important thing is the blood flowing in our veins and our hearts beating in our chests," Bradbury said. "I've put life on Mars. If you've read 'The Martian Chronicles,' you know damn well there's life on Mars."

Last night's "Medium":

SPOILER

I really, really, really enjoyed last night's episode.

I thought the use of the camera as a conduit between Allison and the actions of a previous owner was terrific!

As usual, the family dynamic was sensational, IMO.  Maria Lark, as Bridget, continues to amuse and amaze me for her natural and winning ways.  She's a cute chubbette!  Interesting to see they're now getting the third daughter into the group as an entity unto herself.

The hour this show airs just whizzes by for me.  I like it.

I really like it.

DerBrucer-It is nice to know Ray Bradbury is still alert and in the news.  He graduated high school with my uncle.  My uncle and my father were very close, both are gone now.  I sort of feel a connection there, plus the man is just super, super nice very interesting.  We have met him on and off over the years since high school.

Looking forward to getting to sunny California tomorrow!
I'm not looking forward to a 4 hour drive, but I still can't wait.

I've always wanted to meet him. I read through quite a few of his books one summer.

I haven't noticed much lately about the breakfast plans for Sat. morning.  Is that still on?  If not, that's OK since we'll meet everyone at the show Sat. night, but I won't have internet access after Friday morning as far as I know.

People can leave messages for me at 212-332-0641 if there are any updates.  I'll check that voicemail fairly regularly.  Thanks!
I've been trying to find out the same thing.

I think I found my birthday present (too bad it's not til August).

Speaking of choir, I keep listening to the main title from Hallelujah Trail over & over (& singing along). I miss being in a choir; wish I had the time. And I wish I could sing that song. Whoo!

Is that off the LP soundtrack or the Varese CD club issue?

4-H Plug! Sorry all...I've posted this everywhere because I'm a former 4H-er & the experience was priceless. Girl Scouts have their cookies, Boy Scouts have...I dunno, but anyway, 4-H isn't in the spotlight so much when it comes to fund raising. I guess that makes us less annoying, but lower on funds. ;)
See Charlotte's Web and Help 4-H!
Get the word out: For every ticket purchased for Paramount Pictures and Walden Media's production of Charlotte's Web through www.fourhcouncil.edu, Hollywood Movie Money will make a $1 donation to 4-H to support your state's 4-H program.

Now you've caught me. I dunno. I was kind of a bad girl in the method I used to obtain it.

Thursday greetings!  We've had our first blast of wintery weather here in SW Ohio today.  My drive in to work wasn't too bad until I got to the Dayton city limits, where the salt trucks had not been out yet.

Tuesday evening my drive east to Westerville was right into a spectacular rise of a full moon and yesterday my drive home was into a gorgeous sunset.  The workshop in between was challenging.  As soon as it's posted online, I will share the MP3 file of the "reader's theatre" in which I played the mayor  ;D

Ginny, thank you for the travel vibes.  I need them. This will be a real hassle with the new rules.  It is going to take an extra long time to pack.  Normally I wouldn't even check luggage, but my liquid containers are over the size limit.  This means I have to check my roll bag & carry my second bag that usually fits on top of the roll bag.   Ouch for my back & shoulder.  What a nuisance to go through luggage.  I have to keep the bags small & convenient for the trains & walking to the hotel in DC.
