THREE WISHES...I think I have seen that DVD in the budget bins before...maybe I will just pick it up one of these days...Mrs. John Baer suggested that I watch UNCONDITIONAL LOVE and RETURN TO ME...she said they would both make me cry, and she loved both movies...so I added them to my Netflix queue along with her husbands series TERRY AND THE PIRATES.

How ironic!

The theater where I autioned tonight for A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC is doing TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD right now as their next-to-last show of their season.

It got a lousy review in the newspaper on Friday. The critic thought the play version was dull compared to the screenplay to the film.

Thank you, DR JRand, for the good wishes on the audition. Nothing was said tonight about when any of us might be contacted if cast. I'm wondering if the parts will be offered by e-mail. Just a hunch, but I had to give my e-mail address three times during the audition process tonight.

It would be nice to be in the show, but honestly, the show has been attempted twice in Charlotte during the years since I've been here, and both of those productions were ghastly. It's a very difficult show to pull off well.

Thanks for the link, DRCILLA LIZ.

Yes DRMBARNUM - THREE WISHES is very nice....and I also like a movie called MY DOG JACK....

New subject:  I have 6 or 7 color stills from DON'T DRINK THE WATER and a couple of them might have Don Burnett in them.  I'll look around for his photo and see if I can match it.  I can send you a scan if you like and send you a copy for the interview if you like.

Once I got home, I watched COLD CASE. The case involved one of the main characters when he was working undercover with a drug smuggling organization, so naturally, he became a suspect in the murder of a female drug mule. Good show but not as emotionally affecting as some I've seen.

Then finished up the evening viewing with CROSSING JORDAN which used very interesting psychiatrist interview sessions with each of the principals to piece together a tragic story of love and loss with a bombing in Boston.

One of the best JORDANs of this season.

Miss Rush and I spoke of our disdain for most of today's movies, especially vs. movies of her era.  She was very interested to know if Bigger Than Life held up, and I told her it did - splendidly.  She mentioned that it was Walter Matthau's first film, and that they later appeared in Strangers When We Meet.  She's got a lot of energy and, as I said, is still quite beautiful.  Just finished No Way Out, which is part of the Fox Film Noir series - No Way Out is about as much a film noir as The First Nudie Musical - not at all.

Thanks for the Rush update....yes, STRANGERS WHEN WE MEET - Kirk Douglas was married to Rush....but he was cheating with Kim Novak....well Kim IS beautiful....but Rush has it ALL....and she acts as though she could and would read a book...   ;D

Well, it's about time for me to try to shed some of the pounds I've gained since I quit smoking 5 months ago.  DR Jose, any suggestions?

Well, I started off by not eating white sugar and white flour.  It was sort of hard right off the bat, but then it actually became a bit easier as the time passed.  And you really do lose the taste for sugar.  I also started eating lots of "new" foods as I searched for "safe foods".  *However, I did make Monday my "off day" - no exercise, and I would go out and have some incredible dessert someplace.

I also did one hour of some workout routine six days a week.

OHH!!!  And keeping a food diary is also a good tool.  It can be quite enlightening to say the least.

*And emptying your cupboards and fridge of all the "bad stuff" is also a good tool.  Out of sight, out of mind.

And, most importantly, remember that losing one or two pounds a week is the best way to go.  The slower it comes off, the slower it will go back on.  It took me a while for that whole concept to sink in, but every pound counts.  *And each one to two pounds of fat off your body is 1/4-inch off your waist - at least that's what I've read.

OH!!.... And one other "trick" is something I picked up from some supermodel, Elle Macpherson I believe.  Stand in front of a mirror each day.  Naked.  Learn to know and accept and love your body.  And make a note of what you'd like to improve: what you want to improve today, and what you'd like to improve in the long run.  This allows you to keep track of your progress, and allows you see even the small improvements as you progress.
