For a change, I recorded MY NAME IS EARL and THE OFFICE to watch CSI "live" instead. Interesting case concerning a body found stuffed in a chimney.

WITHOUT A TRACE also had a gripping hour tonight with an abducted child of a man working for a pharmaceudical firm. No idea who the perpetrators were until the end.

Glad to hear from those who have already seen MY NAME IS EARL and THE OFFICE that the shows had good nights. I'll be looking forward to watching both of them tomorrow.

Jose, I just caught your post from a few days ago where you said you attended a group sales event for Mary Poppins- did you see our mutual friend?

Also, I too have a parrot head umbrella.  We had the opportunity to purchase "exclusive" London only merchandise when the show opened.  I felt I had to have one.

I visited the children's psychiatric unit of a hospital for the first time today.  That would be another stressor from this week.

Yes, the children's psychiatric unit tends to be quite stressful.

No, I did not see our mutual friend.  However, BK's friend, Richard Sherman, was part of the grand presentation.

No, DR TCB, sad to say no fella visit this weekend. His aunt died yesterday, and the visitation and funeral are going to tie him up for the weekend. And next weekend, I'll be concentrating on the audition for A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, so who knows when we'll have time for more than just lunch?

Looks like CBS is counting on great things from the new military drama THE UNIT. Ads for it just blanketed CSI and WITHOUT A TRACE tonight.

And, I have to say that they didn't tweak my interest one little bit about checking it out.

A question about SURVIVOR. I'll put spoiler space even though I don't know the name of the ejected player. . . .

spoiler - - - - -

Was this guy some kind of bad sport or what? To spend his last on-camera moment bad mouthing the other players on his team just seemed like the worst kind of sour grapes to me. Or did he have legit reasons to be so angry and bitter?

LP cover of the night. A tribute. This is from the motion picture, not the TV show. Features Jack singing with Martha Raye on the song "Zap the World" wherein he hits one of the highest notes I've ever heard someone sing.

I'll never forget Martha Raye being interviewed on some show - Johnny Carson perhaps - and was asked which of the movies she made was her favorite. Without hesitation, she said PUFNSTUF. (I was hoping she'd say JUMBO).

Big hit with "Wake the Town and Tell the People" in 1955 Michael.  I think she had Ray Conniff producing her tracks.

I love that song, I didn't realize she sang it..or was she part of a group? I do know Mindy sang with Paul Whiteman at some point.

I think she sang with Whiteman in the late forties Michael. Her "Wake The Town" was "solo". Les Baxter's version was slightly more successful and thus more likely to get airplay as an oldie.

I played the 45 rpm from the HR PUFNSTUF TV show over and over when I was a kid.  I remember Witchiepoo's "Oranges Smoranges" and Jack Wild's delicious renditions of "Mechanical Boy" and this from "How Lucky I Am."

In this whole world of people
Who can't get along with people
I picked myself a people
And what have I got?
A jackpot.

Never got to see the PUFNSTUF movie, though.  I'll have to remedy that.

I watched "My Name Is Earl," which I like a lot.  However, I can't watch "The Office," at all.  The more I try, the less I can stand it.  I don't know why, it just grates me the wrong way. :P But I'm happy that you (and obviously, many others) like it. ;)

Hi folks!

Just wanted to pop in before I take my walk down to the bottom of the street.  I'm trying to build myself up.

I got dressed for the first time yesterday and took my first walk but it tired me out so badly that I had to lay down when I got home.

Last night I couldn't sleep so I played a little Rummy against the computer.

I also want to thank you all again for the lovely flowers.  Here are some pictures.

Glad to hear you are doing better DR Danise... Beautiful flower indeed!

For a thursday night, it was oddly busy... I was also doing research for a paper I am owrking on for my Anthropology class on Native Americans of the Great Plains. I am doing a paper on media images and cultural portayals.

I came across an article title that bites... "The moccaisin on the other foot : fighting the whities...."
