Well...I wonder how much I could get a bus ticket to DC for...

I'm going to visit her again on the 3rd. Are you going to be crazed this weekend??

Well.. The Chinatown busses run anywhere from $17-30 round-trip.  However, there is a "nicer" service that started up last years.  Runs about $30 round-trip.  Here's their website:

www.washny.com

Nice busses and various pick-up points and times.

And Greyhound is actually down to $35 round-trip for some times too.

I won't be too crazed this weekend... Double shows both Saturday and Sunday, but you could sit in the pit for a show if you'd like - and see it up top.

Had a wonderful afternoon catching up on the TV shows I couldn't watch last night due to scheduling conflicts.

First up was two episodes of SCRUBS, both hilarious, surreal, and yet poignant. The first one worked in a WIZARD OF OZ motif to memorable effect.

Yes, I did write about Chris Penn last night, DR Ron. He had become grossly overweight, and though I'm not trying to spread gossip and know nothing about him personally, when I looked at him in the last few years I'd think about Chris Farley and wondered if he had the same food and drug problem that eventually killed Chris.

I next watched THE CLOSER which was my favorite episode of the first season thus far. I despise the macho guys in her squad - one in particular who obviously can't stand answering to a woman - that are trying to sabotage her; makes me ashamed of my sex.

For Ask BK Day-

What the frell prompted St. Vitus's Dance to pop in your head?  Did you receive a Saint-A-Day calendar for Christmas?

;)

Like all the notes, I have no idea where these things come from in my psyche - I just start typing and things come out - frequently they're excruciatingly arch, too. ;D

AOL is completely screwy now.  I think what happens is that when there's a hiccup on the Adelphia end, AOL loses its signal for a moment then can't lock back into it, so you have to restart the fershluganah computer.

LOVE MONKEY had an enjoyable episode last night, too, but I was a little disheartened that the two straight friends of Tom Cavanagh's character got subplots of their own but the gay friend was barely seen. I know with an ensemble of four leading men, not every one of them will get a second story every week, but I'm hoping this isn't going to be a trend in the show.

I don't mind getting home late if you don't mind me sleeping (read: snoring) in the car on the way back! Let me think about it tonight...I might actually make the trip down if you wouldn't mind.

Hi Joey, nice to see you.

Ben, once again I have enjoyed your photos.  I will miss them.   I’m so pleased to know I didn’t miss anything not going on the Guinness tour.  I don’t even like the smell of beer.

MBarnum I agree with you about the TV Guide.

Rodzinsky, how cool to be backstage for the ballet.

Actually, I read this morning that THE BOOK OF DANIEL had originally been given an order of 13 episodes and NBC cut it back to 8 after they began seeing the finished episodes.

When the show bowed to less than sterling ratings and a lack of advertiser interest, NBC began recutting the shows to cut the number of shows they were going to air to 6 (which is why we never saw the entire episode where the son went to see LA CAGE with his date only to have a chorus boy in drag hit on him; we only saw a brief clip from the sequence from an edited episode.)

I finished my afternoon viewing with SUPERNATURAL. It was a rerun, but it was the only episode I had missed so far this season due to a scheduling conflict, so I was happy to see it, and it was a good one set in an abandoned asylum with the ghosts of victims of a mad doctor wandering about.

This show is the 21st century answer to KOLCHAK THE NIGHT STALKER only with far better special effects and a much larger budget (and cuter leads).

Grantseeking Basics is "in the books" for January, 2006.  Only 7 attendees today, but they were very attentive.

Happiest of birthdays to Julianna!

For any fans of the forensic mystery series BONES, just a reminder that it moved tonight to Fox's 9 p.m. time slot for a few weeks, right after AMERICAN IDOL.

Once the final 12 are selected for IDOL and the eliminations begin, IDOL and BONES will swap time slots.

But for now, you can find BONES on at 9 p.m. Of course, also on at 9 are the smash hit series LOST and the cult hit VERONICA MARS. And there are also those here who like CRIMINAL MINDS very much.

So, I'd call that one crowded time slot!

Not topic of the day!! What's new?

We watched "Bound For Glory" last night. My first viewing of it since 1976. Great movie IMHO. This morning we are listening "The Weavers" singing a couple of Mr Guthrie's songs.

This will probably lead me on to listening to Arlo's version of "The City Of New Orleans" - wonderful song.

And yes I am fully aware that "City Of New Orleans" was not a Gurthrie song and won a Grammy in the early 70's.

Good Evening!

DR Jason- Well... Depending when you want to "escape" from New York, I could always pick you at the bus station aftermy show Friday night.

*Oh, and, yes, those washny.com busses do not run on Saturdays.

...And Steve used to snore in the car, so... I'm used to it.  ;)

Keep me posted.

I am listening to the Best of Sandi Shaw...lots of fun!

And by the way, DR Tomovoz, I neglected to mention that the CD of Aboriginal music arrived...sounds much more synthisizerish then I expected...don't know what instruments they use, but it is unusual.
