No make that squeeze some fresh oranges.

DR JoseP, while puttering around, put your Bollywood movie into the DVD player...press play...then press menu....then choose "songs" and watch the lead actor sing and dance. It won't hurt a bit.

Oh I don't think that the Cruise/Holmes romance is fake.  Neither of them are that good at acting. :)  I really do think that he is just caught up in it all.

I had read the Scarlett Johansson gossip before.  Not sure if it is true.

I definitely think that even with the Today show incident that War of the Worlds will be huge.

I've always really liked Katie Holmes.  Although the way she has been acting lately on talkshows and the like is sort of a bit too gooey eyed for my taste.

And from everything I've seen/read from people who know Tom Cruise, he is supposedly a very wonderful kind man.  The thing about him that actually bothers me more than all this, is the whole Nicole Kidman divorce fiasco.  I wonder why the truth about that has never come out.  But for him to divorce her when she was pregnant seems really icky.

What planet are you from?  There's nothing real at all in that publicity stunt!

If Kidman really were pregnant, I'm betting it wasn't his.

Indeed is is that "Songs Of New York" Larry.  I don't really mind the song - it's really the Anita connection.  She can stay in her little corner of the world.

Yes, I could say many things about the conductor of that recording.  None of it good.

Speaking of your favourites - Amazon were recommending Dame Kiri's Kern recording  to me. Even the reviews on the site were bad. Was it worse than the Gershwin?

Rumors were that she was having an affair with her "Moulin Rouge" co-star.  I've also read speculation that Cruise may have been firing "blanks" or, possibly, not have done any firing at all.

So...

(I know...it's all trashy gossip...just be glad some of you are above all this sort of thing!)

DP Colin was so hoping that "War Of The Worlds" would have had a new screen version based on the Jeff Wayne "musical" version. (Richard Burton and Julie Covington).

From what I remember, both of Tom and Nicole's children were adopted and Nicole has never been pregnant.  You might be confusing TC with Britney Spears' new husband who left his girlfriend (and mother of his first child) when she was preggers.

It sounds like Tom needs some Cruise Control.

I shall now be on my way to Teddy, so he can make me look kempt once again.

I thought Tom tried that with Penelope. (No! I don't mean looking Kempt).

I didn't work on the Kern; that was Jonathan Tunick.  I don't think Ms Te Kanawa liked the conductor of the Gershwin enough to do another.  She was difficult to work with and quite unfriendly to one and all, since we were all privy to her rude studio attitude to Chris Groenendaal, Ron Raines, and others, along with her forgetting her music.  She threw a lovely tantrum at the conductor over the sound system as well.  No, I don't like her.

DRJennifer, I didn't mean to sound so snippy.  You're a very ingenuous lady, and the ideal audience the Cruise PR machine is targeting.

Good Evening!

-Well, it's technically Evening here on the East Coast already, so...

A bit of a change in plans.  I will not be heading down to Richmond tonight since my friends, Mike and Gary, whom I was going down to see tonight, have both come down with whatever has been going around right now - fever, sore throat, etc.  Instead, I'll be heading down Thursday night - like I have been doing - and possibly just spending the weekend down there through the 4th of July.  And, hopefully - well, not hopefully - I WILL go through my boxes o' stuff and make significant progress with that project.

However, the evening is far from a total bust.  My brother will be dropping off my niece and nephew in a little bit since he and his wife are actually going to have a "date night" tonight.  A long overdue one for them.  Ironically, they're going to see Mamma Mia! and I won't be playing in the pit.  Ah, well...

It'll be nice to spend some time with John and Alyssa.  -And, who knows, maybe John will like to see a Bollywood movie.  ;)

-MID-POST UPDATE...

Well, my brother and his wife have decided to treat themselves to a nice dinner tonight instead - this way they can get back in time to put the kids in bed.  They just dropped the kids off, and are now on their way to McCormick & Schmick's.

Hmm... I guess I should start thinking of dinner now too.

One more thing about Tom Cruise.

For YEARS now, I've dreaded seeing him on anything other than the movie screen because he is forever flashing that maniacal grin.

It's his response to EVERYthing, seemingly...and it comes off, to me, as nauseatingly insincere.

Nobody grins like that ALL the time.

And that grin is certainly a dumb response to nearly every question fired at him.

And just when you think he can't grin any more broadly, he gives his head a Jack Nicholson twitch and grins even more.

It makes me all that much happier to remember that Nicole has an Oscar, but Tom doesn't.

Evening folks!

DR SWW, I’m so glad nothing has happened.  I’m keeping my fingers crossed that she was just talking in the heat of the moment.

DR Elmore, I hope you have a nice time but please be careful and come back to us safe and sound.  I’ll miss you too.

DR VixMom, I'm also sorry to hear about your car problems.  Been there, done that.  Not fun.

As far as I'm concerned, Tom can just Cruise right on out of here.  What a silly.

I also looked forward to see WOTW but I'm not so sure now either.  Still if I can give POTO a look/see, I guess I could it a chance.

I thought the deal with Coke Zero (a horrible name) was that it was NO CARBS.

Well, you have to admit, it lives up (or down) to it's name.   :-\

I recieved my Jeepers Creepers CD today.  I haven't had time to listen to it but am very much looking forward to it.

Aw, shucks, Nursie!  My traveling companion and able assistant just emailed me that one of Cora's boys he's been rehearsing for the Ravinia Festival's ANYONE CAN WHISTLE next month was found shot in the head yesterday in Chicago; what a terrible story!  I fear he may be traveling in a depression tomorrow.

Please extend my condolences to your assistant.  What a horrible way to lose someone.  I hope they find whoever did it quickly.

As far as flowers go, you know I love four O'clocks and roses but I also like almost any other kind as well.   I think Jasmine and Orange blossoms smell very nice.

I liked the Phantom of the Opera movie for the most part. Except the phantom seemed too young and not ugly enough.

My late friend Clifford Stone,  one of my first personal AIDS losses, wrote a beautiful novel "The Great Sunflower."  Clifford's tragedy was that he was a one-book author, and he was a truly kind gentle man.
