DR Elmore:

I'm glad to hear they "totaled" the fridge. Seriously, you don't want one that has failed to that extent. In my experience, it's extremely unlikely that they could really repair it, so I'm happy to know that they readily admitted that and are taking the correct action.

My thoughts exactly. I often wonder how landlords call out a repairman when it's so clear that it's a replacement instead of a repair, but they're not the ones who have to live with no refrigeration for another few days.

I'm glad it'll be over soon.

Wednesday afternoon greetings!  Richard and I have a date to try to get flu shots today.  We have to go to a pharmacy, because our useless primary care practice is not making appointments "just" for flu shots.

We always go to the pharmacy for our shots.

We have, too, in the past, DR Jane, but I was hoping to avoid such a public place this year.  We survived, but the only person wearing a mask in the store was the pharmacist who took care of us.  There were several other customers and a clerk - all unmasked - and the clerk was ranting and raving about how understaffed they and how overworked she is.  She was right, but I didn't care to hear it.  We couldn't get home fast enough.

Even with masks mandatory we don't have full compliance. It's a shame you are put at risk.

~~~CONTINUED PACKING AND MOVING VIBES~~~ for DR Matthew.  No two ways about it, moving is difficult and uncomfortable.
Yes, but it can be so exciting!
Appointment with the kidney specialist (the nephrologist) was alarming, in a way. Nothing specific, but I now have only one kidney, and there is a long list of things that could go wrong. The main thing is, I need to improve my chances by making a lot of lifestyle changes to lose a s--t load of weight. Which I already knew.
I had a dear friend who lost one of his kidneys before we met. He did just fine for the 40 years I knew him. He had to drink a lot of water, but he was quite healthy. Now there are better diagnostics and better treatment options for most things.
Vibes for a healthier new YOU!
If you're looking for some ideas of books with a happy ending, check this out. I've read three and found four to put reservations on at the library.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/entertainment/books/feel-good-books-2020/2020/10/17/4b1759fc-0fe1-11eb-8a35-237ef1eb2ef7_story.html
Thanks.  The list seems short or I am missing some of it-lol.
If anyone reads MIDNIGHT LIBRARY please let me know what you think of it.
I put it on reserve.
I just did that and am 44th on 8 books.
Out of a long, hot bath. Back feels a little better.
Good.
Today Texas became the state with the most Covid cases reported, passing California by several thousand. It’s also second in virus-related deaths, after New York. Our governor must be proud. The numbers have been going up by about 5,000 every day.
One guy e-mailed me - he was trying to make a purchase and just couldn't figure it out - either on the site or on PayPal.  Given that he was trying to purchase $800' worth of CDs, I had him call me and I talked him through it :)
Nuce order.
I plan to NEVER move again!  The mortgage on my condo will be paid off in about a year and a half, so I'm staying for good! :D
I  was the one who asked, Singdaw. I have been eating soy curls lately, but I am often not satiated.
Hell, I haven’t been satiated in twenty years.
I went to the chiropractor today, picked up some food, then settled in to review a boatload of election propositions. California has always done a very good job of providing legislative analysis on each issue, so voters have objective information on which to base their decisions. But there are always a lot of them!
I refuse to watch tomorrow night’s debate.
I'm going to, but mostly because I can watch it at work while I'm working.
I have two recent acquisitions:  live concerts by Harry Connick Jr., and Dianne Reeves.
Dianne Reeves actually performed here in Olympia at the Washington Center years ago and she was fantastic!
