I should have some new DVDs in the mail tomorrow, but certainly there are plenty here I can fall back on.

And I still have MELINDA AND MELINDA to watch which I didn't get to tonight.

I wonder if I'll still be in LA, to come to the cabaret...???

DR PennyO, is there any chance you'll be in LA the last weekend in July? I will be there.  I think I'm going to go to the cabaret, old chum, that Saturday night 29th. Three men and a baby grand

Watching KID MILLIONS....vhs purchased for $1 at Dollar Tree.  It has one of my favorite Ethel Merman movie lines:

Warren Hymer:  I got news for ya....read it right here in the paper.

Ethel:  I didn't know ya could read.

Warren:  Remember that guy in Atlantic City who pretended to be your husband.

Ethel:  Yea

Warren:  Well....he's dead.

Ethel: (beat)  I coulda told ya that in Atlantic City.

Thank you thank you for the wonderful Birthday vibes.  They have been the highlight of my day.  It was a day all right. First we had heat and waking to the garbage truck. Then of course, there was the good news of cool air once again. I was off to the office where it was not a pleasant afternoon.  I'll leave it at that.

So, Paul and I decided to meet for margarita's and fried oysters.

WARNING!!!!! If the frozed margaritas in the machine aren't frozen yet....DO NOT DRINK THEM!!!!!   I did and they were so acidy that I got quite ill. Needless to say the evening was cut very short so I could get home and let my body rid itself of the nasty concoction.

The day ended on 2 high notes (if not a C at least a B natural...or two)  One is the Cats, They were nose to nose and no one died. There was some minor hissing and a little growling, but it was quite friendly.   I didn't let it last too long and then separated them and praised them in the ways they loved to be praised...Bonita Tuna Flakes for Callie and playing toys for Boo.....

The cats indeed gave me a very wonderful gift.   I know it will work out now. We are getting very close.  They are both quite irritated I shut the door.  Soon they will gang up against me to be together.  That's the day I'm waiting for.

Oh, and a bit of good news from early in the day.  Callie's blood calcium is back to normal and she's gained weight.  Duh on the weight. She's just like the rest of my family...even the thought of stress requires a trip to the refrigerator...or in her case, the cat dish

Hmmm I was so angry about the way things were handled at work and the getting sick part, that I thought I had a bad day, but I heard from a few people who had nice birthday wishes for me, and the good things listed above....it really wasn't too bad.  I see Callie's paw sticking under Boo's door this could be interesting

So on that note, my body is telling me it's ready for sleep. Thanks again everyone. It was a very moody day for me and when I was feeling a little blue or angry, I came here and your wonderfully warm wishes made me smile again.  I guess it was a really good day after all... and DR Ben....I will always cherish being Perpetual Miss Iowa.  Where else on the internet can you be bestowed with such an honor?

Night all.

Today, I got the "Doctor Who" DVDs from Amazon.com!  There are two episodes that I missed from the SciFi Channel broadcasts, so I'm going to watch them right now.  One that I missed was when John Barrowman's character, Captain Jack Harkness, was introduced.  It was a two-episode story and I only saw the second episode.

Voldemort is basically a middle school girl: he has a locket, a diary, a tiara, a ring, and is completely obsessed with a teenage boy.

I liked that episode....

Did you know about the spin-off called Torchwood?

BTW, Capt. Jack is rather cute.
