Well, you've read the notes, the notes were fun, and now it is time for you to post until the fun cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: BRACHYLOGY!
-
First post after BK!
-
Nice poster and picture in the notes, BK.
-
And congrats on the book sales!
-
Last night, I went to the Olympia Choral Society's Christmas concert. It was really good.
-
They sang some songs a cappella, and some with piano accompaniment, and a couple with a brass quartet, who also peformed on their own. I had heard that the theater (at North Thurston High School) holds 600. It certainly looks like it. It was pretty full and everyone really enjoyed the concert. They got a standing ovation, and it wasn't inappropriate. :)
-
Now, to ketchup on yesterday's posts.
-
First post after George.
-
Jane, what ship and what cruise line are you on?
-
Good night.
-
Good night, Tom.
-
Good morning, all.
-
It’s actually the middle of the night and I can’t sleep. Again.
-
Second time this week.

Second time this week.
Oh, no!
~~~Sleep Vibes for John!!~~~
-
Fred, VIVA MAX! (http://music-and-comedy.blogspot.com/2017/12/reading-of-our-new-musical-is-coming-in.html) sounds like a lot of fun, Fred! Wish I could be there!
-
Glad the DVDs arrived safely, Vixmom and Tom!
-
Time for bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Very early on a Sunday, but I have to get outside soon and start clearing the snow. Yesterday was a complete wipeout, with show cancelled and snow literally the livelong day once it finally began at ten in the morning. It was coming down for at least twelve hours. We didn't get a whole lot, as these things go, but I'm guessing four to five inches average around the property.
-
Jane, what ship and what cruise line are you on?
Crystal Symphony.
-
Bruce I am pleased your signing went well and laughed at the story of the photo taking.
-
It’s actually the middle of the night and I can’t sleep. Again.
Oh boy can I sympathize with you. Last night was the first night I slept since we left home.
-
~~~Continued Legs-Feel-Better Vibes for Larry!!~~~
DITTO!
-
So, I must be able to get out of here by noon for our matinee.
After the show there's a pizza party being thrown by one of the cast. This is new to me, but he did this last year and I've been told by the others that it's not to be missed. He makes everything from scratch and there are many varieties. It certainly sounds good.
-
Today we went on a tour we should have paid for attention to. The ratings were all great. It was in reality a glorified zoo though it was advertised as a walk with the lions. There were a few lions on the other side of a fence :(
-
We are in the cigar bar relaxing before the lifeboat drill. Good thing I am familiar with the drill since I have a generous glass of Glenlevit.
-
Good morning to all
-
From Yesterday:
Fred:
Good luck with Viva Max! When I saw the poster for the evening of Skips's song in February I asked Skip if it was based on the movie of the same name as I didn't know there was a novel.
-
Catching up from posts from the other day.
DR John G
It goes until the first week of January.
It hasn't been as easy as I thought it would be. Maybe December was the wrong time to do with the holidays coming.
-
Good morning, all!
-
BK - How nice that the event yesterday turned out to be so nice!
Fun story about the photo!
-
So far so good as far as the leg pains go. I did not sleep well; too many worries about my next eleven days before Social Security lands in my bank account.
Yesterday I received notice from SS that in January 2018 my payments would be increased by $9.00/month. Wow!
-
Annabelle waits for birds and I wait for work.

Catching Up From Last Week
This was mentioned as a possibility. But has been done.

This afternoon I will attend a Christmas party given by George de Marco and Andy Monroe, the producer and the composer of my NYMF show The Tragic and Horrible Life and Death of the Singing Nun. I look forward to it.
-
I need to make the bed, torture the babies with their meds, and find some breakfast.
Much as I bitch about no work, I do have some Encores! work, thanks to Joshie, and How To Succeed . . . The issue is cash flow, which is a disaster.

Good luck with Viva Max! When I saw the poster for the evening of Skips's song in February I asked Skip if it was based on the movie of the same name as I didn't know there was a novel.
Thanks, Michael!
And the movie (which starred Peter Ustinov, John Astin, Jonathan Winters, Pamela Tiffin, Alice Ghostley and many other recognizable folk) had also been based on the Jim Lehrer novel. In one of his talks about the novel, Jim Lehrer has credited the sale of his novel to the movies for having given him and his family the financial freedom to take a chance on a career direction that led to all that happened for him in the TV news business. Though we've never asked him, I guess that means the amount had to have been substantial for the late 1960's.
Our musical is based on the novel and not the movie, though, but both the musical and the movie are based on the novel.
-
vixmom - I answered your question in an email.
-
I'm watching Thatch and Annabelle sitting very still in the window as their heads move in rhythm to a pigeon strutting across the fire escape.
I have my own Audubon Society.
-
Annabelle's had her meds, so I have to catch Thatch. I caught him about an hour ago and washed out his eyes. City Vet called me, and his refill is ready. I will pick it up on my way to the party. Hopefully, this third round will clear up things. I've been keeping an eye on Annabelle; I don't want her catching this again.
When I get my Social Security payment, they're going back in for checkups.
-
Driveway is passable, and the sun and sand and salt are making sure it stays that way. Time for me to start getting ready.
-
Just remembered something. I meant to answer this a few weeks ago and I'm pretty sure I never did.
Vixmom: No, believe it or not, I have NOT yet been to the Texas Roadhouse in Danbury! But this is the week it happens. I told Kristi and Nathan that's where they can take me for my birthday -- which isn't till next Friday, but I have shows on the weekend and there's something or other happening on Thursday so we're doing it on Wednesday. Everybody's schedule is completely nuts this year. Anyway, I'm looking forward to that, as are they (they haven't been there yet either), and I will have my full report on your desk the next morning.
-
Annabelle's being very clingy. After playing on my work table and lying on the papers I'm trying to edit, she seems very happy lying in my arms and watching the world. I am accomplishing less than I'd like, but I sure do love holding her.
-
Kitties are nice to hold.
-
I loved reading about the signing and all the folks who were there....and seeing the photo of the T A L L girl with MR BK.
-
DR TCB remember when you were doing THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER and asked if anyone had a recording of the Nathan Lane version? I found mine yesterday.......
-
I also found my 1981 BAREFOOT IN THE PARK with Richard Thomas and Bess Armstrong with Barbara Barrie and Hans Conreid and James Cromwell.....which is what I was looking for..... I don't like Bess much, but everyone else is very good.....I have always liked Richard Thomas in anything....
-
Sometimes the jokes just write themselves:
MR BK is having a party with 15 tops.
Now that's what I call a PARTY!
-
I finally cornered Thatch and decided I needed to wash out his eyes again before I could apply the last of the salve. His right eye is a mess.

It's interesting, it's an unusual case, but somehow I liked Bess Armstrong even more as a TV personality before she got more glamorous.
The first TV show I saw her on and loved her on - "On Our Own" 1977

Theater Artists Olympia has done it twice...and I was in both productions! :D
-
DR FJL I sort of remember that tv show....but not much. I think my dislike of her really stems from a movie she made with Tom Selleck in which she was advertised and played as the "hottest thing" on the screen and next "It Girl." Then again maybe it was just her hairstyle that annoyed me.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7A7OUE6rFQ
-
Or maybe her work in JAWS 3-D.....of course my dislike of her hasn't affected her career at all......she's been married to producer John Fiedler for 30 years and has two sons....
-
Well, I'm off. I'm meeting my friend Margo and her friend Marsha for lunch, then we're going to see "Murder on the Orient Express." Not my first choice, but it'll get me out of the house.
Be back later!
-
But before I go...

PAGE THREE "MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS" DANCE!!

-
I'm up, I'm up - nine and a half hours of very needed sleep - didn't actually go to bed until three.
-
I am now off to my first board meeting since April.....we shall see what kind of trouble I can cause.
-
I think that I spoke too soon about being happy that I could still wear my shoes outside. Last night/this morning there was some snow. So I had to wear my boots. It wasn't that great out (for driving) when I left at 9:45am. But when I came home it was fine. Unfortunately there is supposed to be a major snow storm on Tuesday. :(
-
I am home from the party, which was fun but very crowded and noisy. I met my friend Chris' new wife Marina, who's absolutely lovely, saw some friends and missed a few who either had come and gone, did't show, or were coming later.
-
Im a bit drowsy at the moment but i think it's caused by coming into a warm room from the cold. I will feed the babies shortly.
-
Annabelle's had her meds. She really puts up a fight. They must taste dreadful. I will tackle Thatch shortly.
-
I'm watching Thatch and Annabelle sitting very still in the window as their heads move in rhythm to a pigeon strutting across the fire escape.
I have my own Audubon Society.
;D
-
Kitties are nice to hold.
Especially when they purr.
-
I was going to watch the DVD of the BBC adaptation of Daisy Ashford's The Young Visiters tonight since I've fallen in love with the musical version, but the DVD is split and unplayable. Back to Netflix tomorrow!
-
Hello!
-
Glad to hear your book signing went well, BK!
-
How did you like the movie, DR George?
-
Annabelle's had her meds. She really puts up a fight. They must taste dreadful. I will tackle Thatch shortly.
Here's hoping the kitties soon won't need meds!
-
Back — from show, from pizza party (amazing!!!), and happy but totally beat from the craziest damn weekend. And week.
I am hereby declaring tomorrow a ME day. I don’t care what the world wants from me tomorrow, they ain’t getting it. It’s mine. All mine.
-
I need a me day. Before Jan. 9, that is.
-
Cedar pollen is here and I’m at a party in the hill country surrounded by cedar.
-
My nose is not happy.
-
Page three? Really?
-
Sunday evening greetings! We had a nice time at the triple birthday party for our great nephews/niece. I left there and got to the Methodist church we used to attend for Middletown Civic Chorus’ Messiah. Rebecca met me there and we both enjoyed the performance.
-
Lovely words from everyone.
I am home from my board meeting - was chosen as the director for BAREFOOT IN THE PARK in September.....auditions in mid July.
We approved the 2018 budget.....talk about all sorts of things....and I told them all how much I appreciated their support and prayers the last nine months. They were all much prompted to comment and welcome me back.....I was missed, they claim, and now I can't doubt it.
It was a nice evening. I drove all the way by myself....and drove home in the dark all by myself....so progress is being made.
I am very tired - but happy.
-
Glad the meeting went well, Jrand.
-
Finished with my viewing. Now I'll just listen to music.
-
Remember those London orchestrations? They were performed this evening in Glasgow by the Royal Scottish National Symphony and I've been told they went well. Here's a page of the artists involved tonight:

And here's their Facebook page:

They do it all again in Nottingham on Thursday.

I just made Julia Child's potato salad. It needs to settle over night, but the early taste was quite wonderful.

Excellent news, BK, on the indiegogo site.

Four!
-
Page four? Really?

When traveling we hope for nothing bad to happen back home. Sadly we just learned a dear friend is dying. Right now I wish we could go to L.A. :(
-
My friend Tracey with my new painting. It's actually in my house and is actually mine.

It's a picture of the River Walk with one of the more iconic restaurants in the foreground. I hate the restaurant's food, but those umbrellas are wonderful.
-
I am just now unwinding after a really long day.
-
I should be taking a Benedryl and passing out.
-
Maybe in 20 minutes or so.

Very nice!!!
-
Reminds me of Dr. Seuss meets Edward Munch.
-
Chas make sure you call the Roadhouse for call ahead seating, they don't take reservations, but you can call ahead and be put on the waiting list (they'll let you know the current wait time for your size party) and you can do your waiting before you get there!
-
Good night, all.
-
Jrand - such wonderful theatre news!!!!
-
WONDERFUL photos of your new artwork 😊
-
Former DR Laura 2 is now the mother of a beautiful little girl.
-
Good evening.
-
John, I love the artwork.
-
Jrand, great news about your return to the theater.
-
Allergy vibes to John.

I hate it when that happens!
-
Gratuitous post #111!
-
Hi, Tom.
-
Jrand, if you have a way to make a copy, I would love a copy of THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER.
-
How did you like the movie, DR George?
We all enjoyed it. I've never read the book, so I don't know what was changed, but it wasn't the action adventure that I thought the trailer made it out to be, so that was good. Good performances and great costumes.

Most unseemly.

There will be a bitch-slapping to be reckoned with.

I'm sitting here like so much fish. Just scheduled the Kritzerland eBlast for the new release, so that will be sent shortly.
-
ORIENT EXPRESS is probably my least favorite Agatha Christie story.
-
I guess I am talking to myself.

It is probably better without the commercials, but I enjoyed it.

Congrats to Laura 2!

I hope my friend is still coming over tomorrow to help me with my balcony.
-
I guess I will find out soon enough.
